Wow… where to begin…. As I sit and write this I cannot contain the excitement that I have for both Lance and Melissa. THEY’RE ENGAGED!! Our family finally gets another girl around (and I might be bias, but Melissa is perfect)!! I always wondered what girl would put up with Lance’s crazy and still find the joy and kindness that he has in his heart. Melissa has that equal balance to bring him back down to earth, but still have a fun time when they go out. As an older sister (and only girl) I would not want any one else for my little brother. Did I mention that I cannot contain my excitement?! (Ok, I’ll continue)
The time between now and the wedding will definitely be a challenging and exciting time, but I know the preparation that they will have in becoming husband and wife, will be one that will bring them closer together in their relationship and with God. #ineedtissuesonmydesk #whydoyoucrysomuchwhenyouareamom #pullittogether
Needless to say the preparation for this engagement was extremely thought through. From the designing of the ring, to shipping the ring out of state (huge shout out to Kristine and Pat), to hiding the ring at a friends house (another shout out to Jim and Shannon), flying Melissa’s sister in from Lubbock, to getting close friends and family over to celebrate (all without Melissa knowing of course.
Lance wanted a way to be able to capture the moment and still have it as a surprise. I told him that I could mention to them both that I had a client cancel that day and was needing more pictures of couples for my website (not true at all… of course). So we devised the plan and set the whole thing up. From what I understand, Lance did a great job of making Melissa think it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. Even to the point that he told her he had not asked her father yet (when in all reality he totally did). 🙂 The weeks went by and Melissa was not too happy with Lance at all (hehehe).
The day finally came, I picked up the ring from Jim and was off to pick up Carrie (Melissa’s sister) to then head over to the Buffalo Bayou by Melissa’s apartment.
I was to meet them at the Police Memorial bridge to begin our session, and then the whole thing unfolded…. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. 🙂
**Please disregard some of the blurry photos, I was shaking most of the time… 😉
Of course she saw her sister and was soooo excited!!
And then we HAD to get some newly engaged photos! 🙂
Isn’t she GORGEOUS!!?!
Cute little family pic.
….and they lived happily ever after!
I love you both to the moon and back!
Lots of love,
Lauren
